Kazakhstan is the ninth largest country in the world. Kazakhstan also retains the title of a large landlocked country. Tourism plays a major role in Kazakhstan’s gross domestic product. A total of $3.08 billion is generated annually in the tourism industry.
Kazakhstan ranks 43rd in the list of the most visited countries in the world. The American magazine ‘Guardian’ reported that the tourism industry and services in Kazakhstan, which is surrounded by mountains, lakes and plains, are sluggish.
Following this, in 2015, a five-year plan was implemented to improve the tourism sector of Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan’s famous tourist destinations Astina and Almaty have regained their luster. Development work in East, West and South Kazakhstan accelerated.
It is noteworthy that today there are three lakh employees working in Kazakhstan’s tourism sector. It was announced that tourists coming to Kazakhstan from neighboring countries like Belarus, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Russia, Georgia and Moldova do not need a visa to come and go for up to 90 days. Currently, tourists from Asian countries including India and South Korea are showing interest in visiting Kazakhstan for a seven-day tour. For two lakh rupees, two people can complete a Kazakhstan tour.
