In a recent episode of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 16’, Amitabh Bachchan scolded a contestant for calling unmarried women a ‘burden’. It all started when contestant Krishna Selukkar revealed that despite having an engineering degree, she lost her job during the lockdown. She then compared her situation to that of an unmarried woman and said, ‘If I say a girl without marriage is a burden on the family, sir, after one age, a unemployed boy is as much a burden.’ To this, Big B said something heart-touching. To this, Amitabh Bachchan interrupted and explained that women are not a burden. Amitabh said, ‘Let me tell you one thing. A girl can never become a burden. A woman is a great pride. She is always a matter of respect.’
