New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party leader Kejriwal, who campaigned to defeat the BJP in Gujarat, promised many freebies. The Congress, like the DMK, announced many free programs in its manifesto.

But the people of Gujarat did not want freebies and gave Modi a huge victory. This party has won 156 constituencies and achieved a record. Congress had won 149 constituencies here in 1985 which was a record. Prime Minister Modi asked in the election campaign that ‘this should be surpassed’; People have accepted this and responded.
Congress won 77 seats in the last 2017 elections, this time it won only 17 seats.

Aam Aadmi Party won only five constituencies. However, Kejriwal is happy. The reason is that his party is going to get national status with this victory.
Political observers say that the Aam Aadmi Party has now drawn the Congress vote bank to its side. “Somehow, the BJP’s opposition party in Gujarat is not the Congress, but the Aam Aadmi Party,” says the BJP itself.
