Wildlife mortality is on the rise in Kenya due to severe drought.
Kenya has not received much rain this year, causing severe drought in many parts of the country. Parts of northern Kenya, such as Wajib and Al Jazeera, received less than 30 percent of their September rainfall, causing severe drought in the region’s forests.
As a result, many wildlife species became extinct due to lack of water and food.
In this context, the recent release of photos of 6 giraffes dying together without food due to drought in the Wazir forest in Kenya has caused a great deal of controversy.
