Kenya waits to send police to Haiti
Kenya had plans to send police forces to Haiti, but has put these on hold, the Kenyan foreign ministry reports.
They believe that the prerequisites for the mission have changed, both because law and order has completely broken down and because the country’s prime minister has resigned, according to Reuters.
The United States believes that there is no reason to wait. In a statement from the US State Department, they say that a so-called transitional council, which will appoint a new interim prime minister, will be in place within the next two days.
