24 hours after the sale began, the rapper, who changed his name to “Ya”, announced that he had already earned $ 2.2 million and proved that he was a marketing genius. “We made $ 2,227,012.05 in 24 hours,” West wrote on his Instagram, sharing a photo with the sales data list, “God is good, thank you for this journey.”

The Stem Player which is actually a small portable speaker with flashing lights, first released a year ago along with his previous album ‘DONDA’. The unique player allows listeners to perform a remix of the album’s songs and edit the song on all levels – vocals, drums, bass, cymbals and more.

Kenya’s move also comes as a protest against the small percentage artists receive for the sales of their works: “Today artists receive only 12% of the money the industry earns,” West said on Friday when announcing that his album would only be available on his Stem Player. “It’s time to release music from this oppressive system. It’s time to take control and get what belongs to us.”
