jpnn.comTANJUNG PINANG – The Riau Islands Provincial Government (Pemprov Kepri) will hold a motor vehicle tax (PKB) amnesty program from August 5 to October 5, 2024.

“This program was launched to commemorate the 79th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence and the 22nd Anniversary of the Riau Islands Province,” said Riau Islands Governor Ansar Ahmad in Tanjungpinang, Thursday (1/8).

Ansar said the tax amnesty program aims to ease the burden on the community while increasing awareness and compliance in terms of orderly PKB administration.

The program includes a reduction in the principal of PKB arrears with a discount of 50 percent, then exemption from PKB administrative sanctions, as well as exemption from fines for mandatory contributions to road traffic accident funds (SWDKLJJ) other than the current year.

In addition to the PKB amnesty program, said Ansar, the Riau Islands Provincial Government is also continuing the 2nd motor vehicle transfer fee-free program (BBNKB II).

The program applies to all motor vehicles purchased or sold in the Riau Islands region.

“This BBNKB-2 free program aims to increase public compliance in changing the name of motor vehicles. Thus, motor vehicle ownership data in the Riau Islands can be more accurate and updated,” said Ansar.

Therefore, Governor Ansar appealed to the public to take advantage of this PKB amnesty program.

The Riau Islands Provincial Government will hold a motor vehicle tax amnesty in the context of the Republic of Indonesia’s Independence Day.
