- Kerala Blasters-Mumbai City FC match postponed
- The official announcement has arrived
- Consolation news for Kerala Blasters
The announcement of the Kerala Blasters’ postponement of today’s match comes amid growing demand for the ISL to suspend itself in the wake of reports of Kovid cases within various teams. The ATK Mohan Bagan-Bengaluru FC match scheduled to be played in the league yesterday was also postponed due to Kovid.
Meanwhile, Kovid was reported inside the Kerala Blasters team camp (hotel staff) and it was reported this afternoon that the match would not be postponed though there were earlier indications that today’s match might be postponed. However, when it became clear that the Blasters did not have the players needed for the match, the organizers decided to postpone the match in consultation with the league’s medical team. The new date of the match will be decided later.
At the same time, the postponement of today’s match is a great relief to the Kerala Blasters. The team, which had been staying in hotel rooms for the past three days due to the Kovid scare, had not even gone down for training in the past few days. It was certain that it would be difficult for the team to play without training against a strong team like Mumbai. But in the meantime, the authorities have decided to postpone the match.
