Kochi ∙ Kerala Blasters finally apologized. In a social media post, Blasters expressed regret over the incidents that took place during the ISL playoff match against Bengaluru FC.
The decision to leave the field before the end of the match was recognized as unfortunate and out of anger. It is assured that necessary measures will be taken to prevent the recurrence of such incidents in the future – Blasters stated in a Facebook note.
Blasters coach Ivan Vukomanovic, who called the players back, also announced through social media that he regretted being a part of the controversial events.
The All India Football Federation (AIFF) imposed a fine of Rs 4 crore on the Blasters team, a fine of Rs 5 lakh on coach Ivan Vukomanovic and a 10-match ban. The AIFF also stated that if the team and the coach do not issue a public apology, the penalty will be increased.
