Kerala Blasters player KP Rahul is likely to miss more matches in the inaugural match of the eighth season of ISL after being injured during a match against ATK Mohun Bagan. The Blasters have released more details about Rahul’s injury.

The Blasters said in a statement that Rahul’s injury is serious and he will be shifted to Mumbai for specialist treatment. According to Blasters, Rahul has a groin muscle injury. Leading sports journalist Marcus Mergulhao has revealed that the player will be out for four to six weeks due to injury.

Rahul was injured in the first half of the match against Mohan Bagan. Rahul, who left the field in the 32nd minute, was replaced by another Malayalee player Prashant. He was the standout performer for the Blasters before suffering an injury in the match. Rahul scored the Blasters’ first goal of the match. Sahal scored from Rahul’s cross. But Rahul had to withdraw due to injury after paving the way for the goal.
