Thiruvananthapuram: In the budget, Minister KN said that all the slabs in the land tax will be revised. Balagopal. He said the basic land tax, which is central to land records management, needs to be reformed.
A high level committee will be formed to look into and rectify the discrepancies in the fair value of the land. A one-time increase of 10% in the existing fair price will be implemented in all categories. The minister said an additional revenue of Rs 200 crore is expected.
The Minister said that the basic land tax would be revised by installing new slabs above 40.47 acres (one acre) in Gram Panchayats, Municipalities and Corporations.
The basic land tax rate on all slabs will be increased. He added that an additional revenue of `80 crore is expected through this.
