Kottayam – KPCC Digital Media Cell has started preparations to find 10 lakh digital campaigners as the Lok Sabha elections are on the doorstep. Activists selected from 25,177 Congress booth committees in the state will be the digital campaigners. The aim is to turn every last Congress worker into a campaigner. The selected campaigner should conduct election campaign through mobile to ten people living in the area of his booth. The campaign can be done by starting a WhatsApp group or sending a personal message.

They should make the party’s campaign cards, reels, videos etc. status on WhatsApp. The campaign involving digital campaigners will begin from March 1 after the Samaragni Kerala Yatra led by Opposition Leader V.D. Satheesan and KPCC President K. Sudhakaran ends in Thiruvananthapuram. The party estimates that if at least ten percent of the 10 lakh workers participate in the campaign, it can make a big breakthrough in the election campaign. For this task forces have been formed at the state, district, constituency, ward and booth levels. Apart from the war room in KPCC, war rooms will function at regional and Lok Sabha constituency levels.

Puthupally model

Digital Media Cell Convener Dr. P. Sarin Manorama told Online that it has been decided to conduct the Pudupally by-election model campaign in the Lok Sabha constituencies. In all 18 sitting seats, videos and digital leaflets will be disseminated that will link the achievements of MPs, interactions inside and outside the House and populism. Data collection for this has started. The party countered the CPM’s campaign that no development had taken place in Pudupally by pointing out the developments made by Oommen Chandy. Accurate data collection was done for this purpose. Sarin says that Puthupally model will be successful if there is information collection and presentation to counter CPM campaigns in Lok Sabha constituencies as well.

Deepfake should be feared

The conclusion of Digital Media Cell is that Congress should not be afraid of deep fake videos in the Lok Sabha elections. Even as the central government says it will bring a strong law against deepfake, the Congress believes that the BJP will largely use deepfake videos. CPM should also beware in this regard. Sarin says that the challenge is to dismantle the move to mislead Malayali voters by creating controversies through deepfake videos.

Congress group of CPM

Digital Media Cell has found that CPM WhatsApp groups are being started in cyberspace with the pretense of being pro-Congress. First, pro-Congress posts will appear in the group. Gradually the nature of the group will change. Deficiencies of Congress and leaders will be discussed later. Efforts have been made to detect and report such groups. Work to bring the scattered unofficial groups of the Congress under one umbrella before the elections has also started.
