The rise in gold prices has also increased the government’s tax revenue. In 2017-18, 614 crore rupees reached the government exchequer in taxes. But in the last financial year, the amount received as tax was 1121 crores. It was 852 crores in 2019, 871 crores in 2020 and 973 crores in 2021.
