Kovalam FC Dominates in First Match of Kerala Premier League
Kannur, 05 January 2024 – Kovalam FC kicked off the Kerala Premier League with an impressive victory over Sporting Club in the first match of the season on Thursday. The match ended with a one-sided scoreline of four goals to nil in favor of Kovalam FC.
Idris emerged as the star player for Kovalam FC, scoring a brace in the second half. His goals in the 59th and 64th minutes turned the tide in favor of Kovalam FC. Manoj added to the scoreboard with a goal in the 62nd minute, and K. Rafsal sealed the victory with a goal in the 85th minute.
Despite a setback in the form of Jithu Chukup’s sending off in the 44th minute, Kovalam FC managed to secure all four goals with just 10 players on the field.
In the second match of the day, Muthoot Football Academy secured a victory over Sai Center Kollam with a solitary goal. The match remained goalless until the 87th minute when Rithin Lal’s brilliant shot found the back of the net, securing the win for Muthoot Football Academy.
