Kerala Rain | Heavy rains in Central and Northern districts; Yellow alert in 8 districts

Thiruvananthapuram: The Central Meteorological Department has forecast isolated showers in Kasaragod and Kannur districts in the next three hours. But no heavy, heavy rain is forecast anywhere today. Meanwhile, a yellow alert has been issued in eight districts. The yellow alert is in Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Kasaragod districts.

The water level in Idukki and Mullaperiyar dams remains unchanged. The water level in Idukki is 2399.16 feet.
Mullaperiyar water level is 140.50 feet. In Idukki, the rainfall is intermittent.

Educational institutions in Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha and Kottayam districts will be closed today due to heavy rains and floods in the last few hours. Schools in Kattakada, Nedumangad and Neyyattinkara taluks in Thiruvananthapuram will also be closed today.
