ThiruvananthapuramEducational institutions in Thiruvananthapuram district will be closed tomorrow. There is no change in general examinations and pre-scheduled examinations. The district collector announced the holiday for all educational institutions, including professional colleges, as the Central Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain warning for the district and heavy rains continue during the night.

Heavy rains are expected in the state tomorrow as well. Yellow alert in twelve districts tomorrow. Rain warning is expected in all the districts except Kannur and Kasaragod. South Kerala, especially Thiruvananthapuram, is likely to receive more rainfall. There is a possibility of continuous rain similar to the previous days. Strong winds are possible. The rains are expected to intensify as the east is currently active under the influence of the cyclone in the Comorin region. The next day, new low pressure will form in the Bay of Bengal.

Department of Education recommends extending school hours until evening

The Department of Education has recommended extending school hours in the state until the evening. The extension is based on the assessment that the lesson will not end with the class until noon. The Chief Minister will take a final decision on the recommendation soon. It was also agreed in principle to allow 52 new batches to meet the Plus One seat shortage.

The field is getting ready for the afternoon classes to be held until the evening. The study will continue in batches on different days as time goes on. Kovid protocol, including biobible, will be maintained. The Department of Education estimates that lessons will not be completed by noon until the end of November. It was left to the Chief Minister to take a policy decision on the change of time.

The decision will come soon in the examination calendar along with the time change. The focus is on determining the focus area for the exams instead of studying the entire course as in the previous year. It was also agreed to allot a new batch to Plus One. The batch is mostly in Malappuram, Kozhikode and Palakkad districts where seat shortage is acute. There will be new batches in Thrissur, Wayanad and Kannur districts. Vacant batches will be shifted in and out of the district. CM will take final decision in batch too ..
