Dehradun: Under-19 Vinu Mankad Trophy cricket tournament for Kerala with a landslide victory. Kerala celebrated victory by defeating Uttar Pradesh by 54 runs. Uttar Pradesh was bowled out by 100 runs to reach the target of 155 runs set by Kerala.
Ahmed Imran scored 44 runs for Kerala who lost the toss and batted in a match shortened to 24 overs. He hit five boundaries and a six in 33 balls. Opener Pawan Sridhar scored 37 runs off 30 balls and Aden Apple Tom scored 24 runs not out. Kerala scored 154 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 24 overs. Vansh and Prashant Vir took two wickets each for Uttar Pradesh.
Things were not easy for Uttar Pradesh as they batted back with a target of 155 runs. Kerala’s bowlers excelled by taking wickets at regular intervals. Captain Adarsh Singh was the top scorer for Uttar Pradesh with 29 runs. Akshu Bajwa, who scored 22 runs, also held on.
Vijay S who dropped four wickets. Vishwanath was the center of Uttar Pradesh. The player took five wickets conceding 31 runs in five overs. Aden Apple Tom and Pritish bowled well with two wickets each. Aden Apple Tom scored 24 runs and took two wickets in an excellent all-round performance. Kerala’s opponent in the next match is Jammu and Kashmir.
