On Sunday, July 28, the Guatemalan Olympic Committee—COG— announced that the Badminton player Kevin Cordón will not be able to continue his participation in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games due to injuries to his left armThis unfortunate event marks the early end of her fifth participation in the Olympics.
According to information shared by the Guatemalan Olympic Committee, Cordón suffers from tears in the “origin of the extensors at the level of the epicondyle of the left upper limb.” After studies carried out by doctors from the Organizing Committee and the Guatemalan Olympic Committee, the presence of a first tear of 5 mm by 4 mm and a second tear of 4 mm by 2 mm was determined, as well as a neuropathy of the ulnar nerve.
Since the second set of his debut in ParisCordón showed discomfort in his left forearm, but did his best to improve his performance despite the pain. However, due to injuries, the difficult decision was made to withdraw from the competition.

Kevin Cordón made his debut at the Paris Olympic Games on Saturday, July 27. Along with Jacqueline Solís, he was one of the first Guatemalan athletes to compete at these Olympic Games. The venue was the Porte de La Chapelle Arena, where Cordón faced Sen Lakshya of India in an exciting match.
In the first set, Lakshya defeated Cordon with a score of 21-8, dominating the game from the beginning. Despite the difficulties, Cordon recovered and achieved an early lead of six points in the second set. However, Lakshya outplayed the Guatemalan, winning the set with a score of 22-20.
