According to information shared by the Guatemalan Olympic Committee, Cordón suffers from tears in the “origin of the extensors at the level of the epicondyle of the left upper limb.” After studies carried out by doctors from the Organizing Committee and the Guatemalan Olympic Committee, the presence of a first tear of 5 mm by 4 mm and a second tear of 4 mm by 2 mm was determined, as well as a neuropathy of the ulnar nerve.

Since the second set of his debut in ParisCordón showed discomfort in his left forearm, but did his best to improve his performance despite the pain. However, due to injuries, the difficult decision was made to withdraw from the competition.

Debut at the Olympic Games

Kevin Cordón made his debut at the Paris Olympic Games on Saturday, July 27. Along with Jacqueline Solís, he was one of the first Guatemalan athletes to compete at these Olympic Games. The venue was the Porte de La Chapelle Arena, where Cordón faced Sen Lakshya of India in an exciting match.
