Kevin Costner presents the first part of Horizon: An American Saga – Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1

by time news

While it’s common for movies to be split into multiple parts (we’re getting Dune: Part Two this week), it’s highly unusual for a multi-part movie to premiere a couple of months apart. That’s exactly what Kevin Costner wants to offer fans this summer when Horizon: An American Saga hits theaters in two parts, the first in June and the second in August.

The film looks set to be a grand adventure through the Old West in the mid-1800s, a film that follows an ensemble of actors and shows how the West was won and then lost during the Civil War between 1861 and 1865. It is a narrative described as “too big for one movie”which is why it’s being split into several parts, and now that we’re getting closer to the launch of the first part, a trailer has surfaced that gives us a taste of the action tale Yellowstone (or more appropriately, 1883).

Check out the synopsis and trailer for Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1 below, and the two movies are scheduled to arrive on June 28 for the first part and August 16 for Chapter 2.

Synopsis: “Horizon: An American Saga explores the allure of the Old West and how it was won – and lost – through the blood, sweat and tears of many. Spanning the four years of the Civil War, from 1861 to 1865, Costner’s ambitious cinematic adventure takes audiences on an emotional journey through a country at war with itself, seen through the families, friends and enemies who are all trying to figure out what it really means to be the United States of America.”
