A growing demand for premium pet food has spurred comedian and actor Kevin Hart to enter the market with Hartfelt, a new brand focused on wholesome ingredients and canine well-being.
Kevin Hart is expanding his entrepreneurial portfolio in a surprising, yet fitting, direction: pet nutrition.Inspired by his love for his dogs, Rio and Rambo, Hart has launched Hartfelt Pets, a line of dog food and treats designed to provide optimal health and vitality.
“Our dogs are family, and they deserve more than food that just meets the minimum,” Hart stated in a recent interview.”When I couldn’t find a truly clean, superfood-powered option with real protein and all the good stuff, I decided to make one for them, myself.”
The impetus behind Hartfelt stemmed from Hart’s dissatisfaction with the ingredients commonly found in commercial dog food. He and his wife, Eniko, noticed many options were laden with chemicals, overly processed, and filled with needless fillers. Instead, they envisioned a diet composed of real, nutrient-rich ingredients that would promote shiny coats, strong muscles, and healthy digestion.
“Eniko and I are actually both involved in the whole process,” Hart explained. “Of course,we’re not nutritionists or trained canine chefs, but we’ve partnered with experts to help us pick out ingredients, planning techniques, and so on. I’ve even been on calls to cut better deals with suppliers or to troubleshoot problems with manufacturers. I’m fully committed to it.”
Hartfelt’s Initial Product Line
Hartfelt Pets debuted in November with a trio of offerings catering to different canine needs. The flagship product, the Hartfelt Angus Beef Recipe ($55), features 100% Angus beef complemented by nutrient-packed organ meats. This recipe incorporates a Healthy Aging Antioxidant Blend-including tart cherry, broccoli, beet root, and cranberry-alongside a nourishing Omega Blend of salmon, whitefish, and flaxseed.
For a simple, yet satisfying snack, Hartfelt offers Single-Ingredient Treats ($20), which are freeze-dried raw beef liver. Rounding out the initial lineup are Hartfelt Mobility Relief Chews ($30), designed to support joint health with a blend of turmeric, bovine collagen, and glucosamine HCL.
The brand’s beliefs centers on delivering not just products, but a commitment to the well-being of canine companions. Hart and his wife take pride in providing their own dogs with the very best, and they aim to extend that same standard to fellow dog lovers.
A Family Affair
Rio, a 4-year-old Bernedoodle, and Rambo, a 2-year-old Bernedoodle, are the furry muses behind Hartfelt. “They’re literally the sweetest dogs,” Eniko shared. “I always used to hate the phrase ‘fur babies,’ but with them, I kind of had to change my mind, as those are my kids. I spend a good bit of time with them when Kevin’s away on a project, so I’ll take them on a run with me, or pack them in the car with the kids, and we’ll go get ice cream. They’re a really big part of our family.”
