It sounds like something out of a dime novel.

Talented footballer starts promising career, goes to California to study. He gets to know a very rich prince, is adopted by him and thus becomes a prince himself. He is drawn to Hamburg because of love, where he is reviving his footballing dream – and is therefore disinherited.

Kevin Prinz von Anhalt (28) is right in the middle of this wild aristocratic story.

It begins for him in 1994 as Kevin Feucht in Sonthofen. And is currently finding her next stop in Norderstedt. Fourth division soccer club Eintracht Norderstedt has signed the soccer prince as a center forward for the coming season.

A lot happened in between…

Prince Frédéric von Anhalt (turns 80 on Sunday) will make him his sixth adopted son in December 2021. For the widower of the Hollywood diva Zsa Zsa Gabor († 99) he should take care of her legacy.

But Kevin’s commitment to the traditional Hamburg club Altona 93 in the summer of 2022 will be followed by disinheritance. “I’ve adopted six times and fallen flat on my face six times. Especially with the last adoption,” complains Frédéric in September in the “Bunte”. And Kevin’s liaison with Til Schweiger’s daughter Luna should now be a thing of the past.

Lots of gossip, but also skill.

Kevin von Anhalt scored 17 goals in 26 competitive games for Altona. This is registered in and outside the city gates. “Last season he was one of the most conspicuous players in the Oberliga Hamburg,” says his new coach Olufemi Smith. And explains: “In addition to a good physical presence, Kevin also has a good header game and a great understanding of the game.”

Trained in the youth team at Karlsruher SC, he was a 17-year-old stormer for Wormatia Worms in the Regionalliga Südwest (33 games). In the United States, he played for the Charleston Golden Eagles (South Carolina), the Santa Barbara Gauchos (California) and the Duke Blue Devils (North Carolina).

Now again 4th league in Germany. Kevin: “I’m extremely happy to have another chance to show what I’m capable of in the regional league.” The model athlete (1.90 m) chose the jersey with number 14. For a very special reason.

“At 14, because of growth problems, I suddenly disappeared completely from the radar of the scouts of DFB-U national teams and NLZs (youth performance centers, ed.). When I was 14, I fell into a mental hole and basically had to relearn how to play football,” he says.

“Today I am very grateful for the time as the disadvantage turned into my advantage. I was able to develop step by step at my own pace freely and without pressure and was never forced into schematic training systems. Now, 14 years later, I can’t wait to play on the No. 14 pitch.”

This is how a wild aristocratic story might also become a wild football story
