This Sunday, Polish citizens elect a parliament that will not only define the country’s political future, but will also have an impact on the entire region, affected by the war in Ukraine. According to the latest polls, there are 45% of undecided people, mostly women, reported Public TV.

The data becomes relevant as a result of the decline in legal abortion promoted by the current conservative government, which generates rejection in the majority of women, who debate between going to vote or not participating directly in these parliaments.

Referendums

The election also coincides with a referendum with two questions referring to immigration, one of the key points for Polish security given that Belarus, an ally of Moscow, encourages the entry of migrants. Added to this is also the rejection of the Polish government to the immigration policy promoted by the European Union.

The opposition questions this consultation because it maintains that it can condition the vote and is part of an electoral campaign focused on the interests of the ruling Law and Justice party and its right-wing allies, who lead the voting intention with almost 37% according to the consulting firm Estimator. .

Surveys

In that same survey, the Civic Coalition is in second place with 30.5%. Further behind is the center-right Third Way alliance with 9.4%, while the New Left and the far-right Confederación Libertad y Independencia would be equal at 9.3% each.

On Monday, a television debate was held between the opposition leader, former Prime Minister and former President of the European Council Donald Tusk (photo), and Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.

At the intersection, in which the issue of social assistance was one of the points of friction, it became clear that in these elections there are two possible scenarios: the continuity of a conservative government or the coming to power of liberal sectors.
