KFUM OSLO-LILLESTRØM 2–0

LSK now has six consecutive losses in the Eliteserien after KFUM Oslo proved too strong on Friday night.

Robin Rasch and Johannes Hummelvoll Nuñez decided the match for the home team. The former with a penalty goal after 65 minutes, the latter with a beautifully placed shot two minutes before the end. It was Nuñez’s tenth goal in the Eliteserien this year.

Nielsen has nine matches left to secure LSK a new contract at the top level.

– We did a lot of good things, but it’s definitely crucial when they get a penalty, and we have a player sent off. The guys worked incredibly hard. We started the second half very well, but it’s small things that make the difference. We need to work to get those on our side, Nielsen told TV 2 after the debut loss at Ekeberg.

Felix Va fouled Obilor Okeke inside the LSK box, giving Rasch the chance from the spot. Referee Rohit Saggi pointed to the penalty spot, and Va simultaneously received his second yellow card and had to leave the field.

– Then Lillestrøm is in trouble, says Endre Olav Osnes as the LSK player trudged off the pitch.

TV 2 expert Jesper Mathisen praised Okeke’s action beforehand.

– Explodes into the penalty area! What an extraordinary burst he has, he writes on X.

At the same time, LSK’s Va heard it.

– Va with an incredibly clumsy tackle after he was first outmaneuvered, and Lillestrøm is in even more trouble. Rosenborg, HamKam, and Viking in the next three, he writes.

Rasch’s goal also made it tough for LSK for the remainder of the match.

Just before KFUM’s scoring, LSK was calling for a penalty after the ball touched Ayoub Aleesami’s hand, but the referee deemed it not to be a penalty.

After KFUM’s opening goal, Thomas Lehne Olsen had a great chance following a weak clearance by the aforementioned Aleesami. However, the striker’s shot went wide of the goal.

It was scoreless at halftime, but former LSK coach Tom Nordlie was not impressed with the guests’ performance.

– LSK defensively has poor pressure on the ball carrier, large distances, and loses most second balls. Little energy. They look a bit paralyzed and anxious, says Nordlie, who is an expert for the local newspaper Romerikes Blad.

This gave Danish David Nielsen a heavy start to his coaching assignment at LSK. He has been tasked with saving the place at Åråsen, but LSK remains under the line after 21 matches played.

They are level with Sandefjord in the spot ahead, which has two games in hand. If Odd wins their match this weekend, they will also pass LSK.

– Lillestrøm is in big trouble, says Osnes.

The victory means that KFUM Oslo is up to 29 points. The team still holds 7th place in the Eliteserien.
