Khadeeja Rahman, daughter of music director AR Rahman, is getting married. The groom is Riyazuddin Sheikh Mohammed, an entrepreneur and audio engineer. Khadeeja herself announced the engagement on Instagram. The engagement ceremony was held on December 29, Khadeeja’s birthday, in the presence of close relatives and friends. The wedding date will be announced soon.
AR Rahman and Sairabanu have three children, Khadeeja, Rahima and AR Amin. Khadeeja has sung for many Tamil films. Khajeeda will make her singing debut in the super hit movie Enthiran starring Rajinikanth. Khadeeja sang the song ‘Puthiya Manitha’ in Enthiran.
Writer Taslima Nasreen’s mockery of Khadeeja wearing a burqa has caused a great deal of controversy. According to Taslima Nasr, Khadeeja’s burqa is disturbing. Khadeeja’s response to Taslima Nasr was that it was her choice what to wear. “What issues are going on in this country, and yet the discussion is about a woman’s dress,” she wrote on Instagram. He was not weakened and did not regret the choices he had made in life. Khadeeja said she was happy with what she was doing and was proud of it.
