BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, who was admitted to Evercare Hospital in the capital, said that the ‘life is under threat’, said the secretary general of the party, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.

The BNP Secretary General said this to reporters at the BNP Chairperson’s political office in Gulshan after visiting the BNP Chairperson at Evercare Hospital on Monday (July 8) afternoon.

He said that he fell ill suddenly in the morning. He has many ailments which we have repeatedly highlighted to the nation. But the government did not care. We think the government is doing it intentionally. Currently his life is under threat.

Mirza Fakhrul said, now it has become a national demand that the country leader should be released unconditionally. The injustice being done to him is extreme injustice. It is a purpose motivated political vendetta to keep him locked up and pushed to his death. Today he was again admitted to the hospital. All of a sudden he has to be admitted to the hospital like this. He had to come to the hospital a few days ago. Constantly very complicated diseases attack him. In that case, we have repeatedly said that he should be treated in a multidisciplinary medical center abroad. It is unfortunate that the government is not releasing Begum Khaleda Zia out of revenge.

Mirza Fakhrul said, doctors are monitoring madam 24 hours a day. The movement for unconditional release will continue, we are protesting for the unconditional release of the national leader. There will be more movements in the future. We will try to advance this movement. This inhuman government does not want to give importance to the illness of Begum Khaleda Zia.

The expert doctors who came from outside for treatment even said ‘I need surgery outside the country’. Even where multidisciplinary treatment takes place. Unfortunately, I’m not a doctor, so I can’t say. But from what I understand, if he can be released and sent out quickly, he can get better treatment.

In response to a question, he said, we believe in peaceful democratic movement. We never want to do anything in an undemocratic way. It is the government’s responsibility to respond to all of our requests and arrange his release.
