Khalifa’s Support for Farmers & Youth | [Region/Country]

The official ceremony of the 114th edition of the annual Ziarra of Léona Niassene was held this Saturday, January 31, 2026, in the presence of religious, administrative and political authorities.

Spokesperson for Léona Niassene, Cheikh Ahmed Babacar Niass, speaking on behalf of the Khalifa, urged goverment support for both farmers and young people during the event. “We are farmers and alhamdoulila the wintering was good but the peanut seeds are still in our hands. You must take measures to allow farmers to sell their production. We must also take young people into account with job creation. This will help reduce irregular immigration,” niass stated.

Niass also requested continued state support for the completion of major projects within the religious city of Léona Niassene, specifically mentioning a guest house and a Mame Khalifa cultural complex.

minister Yankhoba Diémé, representing the President of the Republic and his Prime Minister, affirmed the government’s commitment to supporting religious centers throughout the contry. He concluded by requesting prayers for a peaceful and prosperous Senegal.

The gathering concluded with prayers led by Caliph Serigne Cheikh Ahmed Tidiane Niass for the delegation and for the well-being of Senegal.
