England were bowled out for 294 in the first innings. Ben Stokes and Johnny Bairstow put England ahead by 36 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. Bairstow (113) and Ben Stokes (66) were the only England batsmen to score in the innings. Scott Bolland took four wickets for Australia.
Australia also started the second innings with a collapse. Khawaja and Green saved Australia from 86 for four. The duo added 179 runs for the fifth wicket.
