Sharjah : Sharjah Investment Development Department (Shurooq) launches second phase of development projects on the Korfakkan coast, which is famous for its natural sea views. There will be more restaurants, a gym and a fountain, as well as new playgrounds for children. The tourist facilities on the beach, which currently stretch for one and a half kilometers, will, with this, be two and a half kilometers.

Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, said that further development work would be initiated following the guidance of Sharjah Projects Facility Director Khawla Syed Al Hashmi.

The coast of Khor Fakkan is one of the favorite destinations not only for the locals but also for tourists from all over the UAE. The number of tourists visiting the place has increased significantly in the last two years.

Khawla Syed Al Hashmi said that with further development projects, all the facilities required for the incoming tourists will be provided and a lot of investment opportunities will be created in the region.

The first phase of the Dh9.5 crore renovated Khor Fakkan Beach project, led by Shurooq, was opened to visitors in December 2019. It was inaugurated by the ruler of Sharjah.

The first phase will have facilities such as an amphitheater, sidewalks, children’s playgrounds, football, basketball and volleyball courts.

There were special picnic spots, restaurants, cafes, gardening in the Islamic style, washroom facilities for seafarers, and special tracks for jogging and cycling. There is also a facility to park 315 cars at a time.

Khor Fakkan beach is also a place that gives nostalgic memories to the Malayalees.
