Khouribga: Inauguration of the Women’s Skills Strengthening Center

With a total capacity of 294 educational places, this new structure was inaugurated on the occasion of International Women’s Day, during a ceremony which took place in the presence of the Director General of the Office of Vocational Training and Work Promotion (OFPPT), Loubna Tricha, the Governor of the province, Abdelhamid Chennouri, officials of the OCP Group and the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P).

This establishment enriches the OFPPT training system in the Béni Mellal-Khénifra region by guaranteeing a diversified training offer in 9 sectors, by creating a space for synergy and learning and by strengthening soft skills and the entrepreneurial mindset among young trainees from the province of Khouribga.

Led by “Act4community Khouribga” of the OCP Group with its partners OFPPT and UM6P, the center aims to provide diploma and qualifying training and entrepreneurial support for women and girls in the province of Khouribga.

It also aims to breathe new life into the inclusion of women in economic development by offering capacity building programs that focus on interpersonal skills and the spirit of entrepreneurship and that offer diversified training for the empowerment of women in Khouribga.

In a statement to the press, Ms. Tricha stressed that the official inauguration of this new generation Center, the result of a tripartite partnership between OFPPT, OCP and UM6P, will contribute to supporting young women in Khouribga to train in new careers and professions and to develop their financial autonomy.

And Mrs. Tricha said that this Center offers training in 09 sectors, open to 3 levels of training, namely the specialized technician, the technician and the qualification level, covering the professions of specialized educator in early childhood, educational assistant in preschool, socio-educational agent, social life assistant, catering agent, in addition to the culinary arts, pastry, kitchen assistant and e-commerce.

She expressed OFPPT’s support for the emancipation of women and their empowerment to make them a concrete actor in the creation of wealth and value at all levels, whether local or regional, and by establishing them as a main actor in the national economy.

For her part, Bouchra Rahmouni, director of the Social Innovation Laboratory of UM6P, said that UM6M has made available to the partners of this center the methodology of the social innovation laboratory in order to co-define the needs of the women of Khouribga and to co-construct a female entrepreneurship program for the benefit of the women of Khouribga in several professions, namely culinary art, pastry and crafts.

Built and developed by the OCP Group with a budget of 29.7 MDH, on an area of ​​5180 m² including 2295 m² covered, the center is equipped with various infrastructures promoting the best learning conditions. It includes a variety of spaces including a specialized room, 3 classrooms, 4 workshops including a Personal Services workshop and an educational nursery, in addition to a restaurant and an educational kitchen.

The establishment also houses a support space for women from Khouribga through a capacity building program aimed at immersing them in an environment conducive to the adoption of an entrepreneurial mindset. This innovative program, supported by UM6M through its Social Innovation Laboratory, aims to catalyze local economic potential by fully integrating women into the entrepreneurial fabric.

The training offer of the center comes in response to the expectations of the women of Khouribga expressed within the framework of the field diagnosis carried out by the dynamic Act4community Khouribga, thus reflecting the common vision in favor of the empowerment of women at the heart of its priorities.

A behavioral skills room and a soft skills room are also used by trainees to further strengthen their linguistic, entrepreneurial, behavioral and digital skills.
