(Web Desk) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has taken another important step for the welfare of the citizens, 4 thousand deserving girls across the province will be given 2.2 lakh rupees from the dowry fund.
A meeting of the Social Welfare Department was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in which other welfare measures were considered besides the use of Zakat and dowry funds.
In the meeting, it was decided that mass events will be organized at the divisional level, marriages of more than 4 thousand deserving girls of the province will be arranged with dowry funds, mass wedding events will be organized at the expense of the provincial government. Girls will also be given Rs 2.2 lakh in cash.
Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur said that in marriages under dowry funds, it should be ensured in all respects that only the rightful one gets the right, inactive shelters in the province should be activated immediately.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur also decided to give wheelchairs to disabled students. It was decided in the meeting that wheelchairs will be given to disabled students of higher educational institutions in the first phase. In the meeting, a decision was also taken to establish an old age home for senior citizens. Apart from accommodation for the senior citizens, entertainment will also be arranged in the old age home.
It was decided in the meeting that orphan card will be issued for the orphan children, it was suggested to give 5 thousand rupees per month to the children at the school level through the orphan card.
The meeting also agreed on the proposal to issue ration cards for elderly widows. It was suggested to give five thousand rupees per month to the elderly widows under the ration card.
