Eight-month-old Aruhi Dheri, 27-year-old mother Jasleen Kaur, 36-year-old father Jasdeep Singh and 39-year-old cousin Amandeep Singh were killed. The bodies were recovered from an orchard near Hutchinson Road on Wednesday evening.
Police have arrested a suspect in the incident. He was taken into custody on the basis of video footage. Videos have surfaced of the assailant holding a family of four at gunpoint, threatening them and taking them into a truck with their hands tied. The accused has been caught by the police in the state of attempted suicide. His name is Jesus Salgado. The motive for the murder is unclear. International media reports that the Indian community in California is worried about the incident.
