One of those arrested in connection with the kidnapping of businessman Jose Ventura Castillo Ramirez was found dead inside his cell.
Jared Alberto N was found dead in the Sanctions Enforcement Center (Cedes), and authorities are investigating, reinforcing surveillance for the other two arrested in the case.
The businessman and father of the alternate senator for Brunette, Veronica Castillo, was kidnapped on July 31 in Reynosa, Tamaulipas.
The captors demanded a ransom of two million pesos. Days later, three individuals were arrested, one of whom was later found murdered in prison, and Eduardo G and Eduardo N.
Two of those arrested, Eduardo “G” and Jared Alberto “D”, were identified as sons of González Lozano, who had been an important member of the Labor Party and had supported the campaign of the current governor of Morena, Americo Villarreal.
After the crime, activist and searcher Delia Quiroa expressed regret over the death of the individual involved and held the Government of Tamaulipas responsible for the safety of those involved.
During statements before the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the detainees alleged that Castillo Ramírez had a debt of 3.5 million pesos, derived from a commercial agreement related to the franchise of the restaurant “El Huachinango,” owned by Juan González Lozano, a Tamaulipas politician who died of cancer in March of this year.
