Abu Dhabi: UAE warns of possible life imprisonment for kidnapping or detaining a person in the country. Kidnapping under the guise of misrepresentation, coercion, torture, death threats, or physical or mental torture is punishable by life imprisonment. This was reported by the UAE Public Prosecution.

Kidnapping is intended for profit, revenge, rape, insult, or injury, but can result in life imprisonment if the officer is abducted while on probation. If the above act leads to the death of the victim, the death penalty is imposed. Authorities said he would face the same punishment even if he committed the crime with the help of an armed group.
