20-year-old Ernest Juška from Dartford was arrested after 6:50 a.m. on Saturday, August 17. In the morning, a disturbance was reported at one of the houses on Henderson Drive, Dartford, the portal writes.
Officers and paramedics attended the facility where a woman was found with injuries consistent with a stab wound. She tragically died at the scene. Juška was an acquaintance of the victim.
The lieutenant reportedly remains in custody on charges of murder and sexual assault of the deceased woman. E. Juška was supposed to appear at the Medvej Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
Local residents reported hearing emergency sirens throughout Saturday morning.
An ambulance was among the vehicles called to the scene, and forensic experts in protective clothing were seen entering and leaving the area, according to The Daily Mail.
One neighbour, who asked not to be named, said: “No one expects this on their doorstep. This is very serious. I think the police will be here all day. It’s more than just unrest.”
Speaking of the detectives, another resident said: “They have blue gloves and white suits. There are about six forensics here.”
They added: “I have never seen so many law enforcement vehicles coming down the mountain. I was born in Dartford and I’ve never seen anything like it.”
Dartford MP Jim Dickson for his part offered his condolences and support to the victim and the shocked local community.
“My thoughts are with the victim and everyone affected by the tragic incident in Temple Hill this morning. I would like to thank the police for their quick response and urge anyone with relevant information to contact the police,” he said.
A spokesman for Kent Police said at the weekend: “A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following an incident in Dartford, Kent.”
Officers, along with colleagues from the South East Coast Ambulance Service, attended the incident where a woman was found with injuries consistent with a stab wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 20-year-old man who was known to the victim was arrested and taken into custody. Officers are still investigating the scene and Henderson Drive is currently closed between the junctions with Marsh Street and Cavell Crescent.
