Kim Koppenaal (37) was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 7. For years Kim had little or no trouble with the disease, but after her 25th, complications started to occur. She developed intestinal and stomach problems, nerve damage and lost most of her sight. On World Diabetes Day, she wants to draw attention to the impact of the disease.
