At the press conference for the Kim Bo-seong vs. Kondo Tetsuo Special Rebench Match held at Fairmont Ambassador Seoul in Yeoui-daero, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of the 2nd, Kim Bo-seong said that he would participate in the match while not being able to see well in front of him in accordance with the purpose of the match.
Kim Bo-seong said, “This match is intended to comfort and give hope to the visually impaired, so I plan to take on the reckless challenge of taking off my sunglasses and playing without wearing contact lenses.”
Tetsuo Kondo drew attention by saying, “I want to compete confidently according to the rules of boxing without thinking about that part.”
Meanwhile, in 2016, Kim Bo-seong competed in the special match welterweight of ROAD FC 035, a mixed martial arts competition, and fought against Japanese fighter Tetsuo Kondo. He suffered an orbital fracture during the match, causing the bone around his right eye to collapse, but he gave up on surgery to protect his eyesight. After 8 years, Kim Bo-seong will compete in a revenge match against Tetsuo Kondo on October 12th of this year.
