Singer Kim Jae-hwan, formerly of the group ‘Wanna One’, reveals his feelings when he appeared on an audition program.
On the SBS M·SBS FiL entertainment show ‘Zenblue’s Sweaty Debut Table’, which will air at 7:20 PM on the 20th, Kim Jae-hwan visits the cooking room to meet Ayako and Wien, members of the group ‘Zenblue’.
Ayako introduces herself as the one in charge of entertainment, and Wien introduces herself as the one in charge of vocals. Wien wittily tells Kim Jae-hwan, “It seems like you’re in charge of visuals.” Kim Jae-hwan continues the warm atmosphere by saying, “You don’t need compliments about singing well. The best thing is to say you’re cool.”
Ayako asks if he was worried when he saw the contestants who were skilled during the survival show. Kim Jae-hwan honestly reveals his feelings at the time, saying, “When 100 people went to their dorms and slept, I was alone in the practice room. After feeling that I was lacking in skills, I couldn’t sleep because I kept telling myself, ‘I’m going to work hard here and get first place.’”
He then recalled, “I felt that what I could do now was to practice more than others, so I danced more and devoted myself to practicing singing more.”
Wien asks, “Have you ever wanted to give up?” Kim Jae-hwan says, “There were many times when I wanted to give up. It was so hard when I was a trainee. There were so many friends who were good at it, and my skills didn’t improve. But I had no choice but to hold on, thinking about my friends and family who believed in me and supported me. You just have to hold on.”
Ayako and Wien said, “We gained strength from the fact that someone as great as our senior went through the same time as us as trainees. When we feel like giving up or when things get tough, we should think about our senior’s words and work harder.”
While talking about his own charms, Kim Jae-hwan showed off his special skill, ‘aegyo’. Wien showed shy aegyo, and Ayako showed refreshing aegyo with her special skill, ‘smile’.
Meanwhile, Kim Jae-hwan was selected as the 4th place winner of Mnet’s boy group audition show ‘Produce 101’ Season 2 in 2017. He debuted as a member of the final debut group Wanna One in the same year and was active for 1 year and 6 months. He re-debuted as a solo singer in May 2019.
