LOS ANGELES, November 29, 2026 — Kim Kardashian revealed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle requested she remove an Instagram photo featuring them at Kris Jenner’s 70th birthday party, citing the observance of Remembrance Sunday.

The couple asked for the photo’s removal due to concerns about appearing to celebrate while the nation honored those who died in war.
What is Remembrance Day? It’s a memorial observed annually on November 11th to commemorate the service and sacrifice of armed forces personnel and civilians in times of war since the end of World War I.
Photos of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex at the November 9th celebration, held at Jeff Bezos’s mansion in Beverly Hills, were taken down from both Kardashian and Jenner’s social media accounts shortly after the event. Kardashian addressed the situation on her sister Khloé Kardashian’s podcast, Khloe In Wonder Land, explaining the reasoning behind the request.
“We were told that it was totally cool to post,” Kardashian shared. “And then after it was posted, I think they realised it was Remembrance Day, and they didn’t want to be seen at a party, even though it’s already up, you know, and then taken down.”
A Moment of Regret?
Kardashian suggested that Harry and Meghan may have regretted asking for the photo’s removal, given the subsequent media attention. “I think they realised, like, ‘Oh, this was so silly,’” she added. “It was really innocent, which is so crazy. Mom and Meghan have been friends for some years now, and they have a really sweet relationship.”
Kardashian noted that the couple were comfortable appearing in photos taken at a charity gala for Baby2Baby on the same day, as that event was focused on philanthropy rather than celebration. “That was fine,” she explained, “as opposed to being shown partying and dancing.”
Representatives for Harry and Meghan have been contacted for comment.
A Growing Friendship
Harry and Meghan have cultivated a close relationship with the Kardashian-Jenner family since stepping down as senior members of the British Royal Family in 2020 and relocating to California.
Jenner’s James Bond-themed 70th birthday party, held at Bezos’s Beverly Hills estate, drew a star-studded guest list including Oprah Winfrey, Beyoncé, Adele, Mariah Carey, Paris Hilton, Justin and Hailey Bieber, and Oscar-nominated actress Teyana Taylor.
The lavish party, which featured a surprise performance by Bruno Mars, reportedly prompted multiple noise complaints throughout the night, according to TMZ. Police responded to Bezos’s home, speaking with security personnel and issuing a warning.
The birthday celebration was organized by Jenner’s six children: Kim, Khloé, Kourtney Kardashian, Rob Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, and Kendall Jenner.
