Kim Min-su (16, pictured), a member of the national team, won the 70th Korea Amateur Golf Championship, the oldest golf tournament in Korea.

Kim Min-soo recorded 5 birdies, 4 bogeys, and 1 double bogey in the final 4th round of the tournament held at Namseoul Golf Course (par 71) in Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do on the 6th, recording 1 over par and a final total of 10 under par 274 strokes to take the top spot. Despite a double bogey on the 18th hole (par 4) in the last round of the 4th round, he lifted the winner’s trophy by 2 strokes over 2nd place Baek Seung-hwa (16).

Kim Min-soo, who has been active as a national team reserve last year and this year, has won three times this year alone. He previously won the 22nd Bitgoeul Jungheung Amateur Golf Championship in May and the 28th Choi Dong-gyu Maeil Amateur Golf Championship last month. In addition, he has been named in the top 10 a total of 10 times in 12 competitions he has participated in this year, including two second-place finishes. Kim Min-soo, who is currently ranked first in the Korea Golf Association (KGA), has earned an additional 750 ranking points with this win.

This competition, founded in 1954, is the longest-running domestic professional and amateur competition. It has been held as the Heo Jeong-gu Cup since 2003 in honor of the late Chairman Heo Jeong-gu, who led the Korea Golf Association and the Korea Professional Golf Association.
