jpnn.comMANADO – North Sulawesi (Sulut) gubernatorial and vice gubernatorial candidates Elly Engelbert Lasut and Hanny Joost Pajouw are increasingly strengthened by significant grassroots support from the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) Plus.
Even though they were ‘de jure’ supported solely by the Democratic Party, Elly-Hanny received electoral contributions from KIM supporters which strengthened their position as the strongest gubernatorial candidates.
A survey by LSI Denny JA on September 1-7, 2024 revealed that the three major parties from KIM Plus gave full support to Elly Lasut-Hanny Joost. The Golkar Party led with support of 74.2 percent of the voting population of 11.5 percent.
The NasDem Party, which has a voter population of 5 percent, also gave a large support of 62.3 percent to this pair. Not to be left behind, Gerindra with a voter population of 15.8 percent contributed strong support of 56.2 percent, emphasizing the solidity of this coalition.
“Even though Gerindra, Golkar, and NasDem are not the main supporting parties. However, Elly Lasut-Hanny Joost managed to gain significant support from their voters,” said LSI Denny JA researcher Fajar Moestar, Saturday (21/9).
Elly Lasut-Hanny Joost are not only supported by a coalition of large parties, but are also seen as a symbol of new hope for North Sulawesi. Their leadership is expected to provide a new direction for development and economic growth in North Sulawesi.

Its achievements are evident from the rapid infrastructure development, including the improvement of district roads, the addition of ferry ports, and the improvement of port facilities in the Talaud region.
