Yoo Jae-myung, Lee Jung-eun, and Kim Eui-sung have joined the series ‘Knockoff’, starring actors Kim Soo-hyun and Jo Bo-ah.
Disney+ announced on the 2nd that along with Yoo Jae-myung, Lee Jung-eun, and Kim Eui-sung, Bang Hyo-rin, Kwon Na-ra, Park Se-wan, Kim Hye-eun, Go Kyu-pil, Kim Moo-yeol, Jung Man-sik, and Kang Mal-geum will appear.
‘Knockoff’ is a story about a man whose life is turned upside down by the IMF crisis, who goes from being an ordinary office worker to becoming the king of a counterfeit market. Kim Soo-hyun plays ‘Kim Sung-joon’, who becomes the vice president of the counterfeit market Sammul Market after losing his job due to the IMF, and Jo Bo-ah plays ‘Song Hye-jung’, Kim Sung-joon’s ex-lover and a special judicial police officer in charge of cracking down on counterfeit goods.
Yoo Jae-myung will make a special appearance as Kim Man-sik, the father who dragged Kim Sung-joon into the world of counterfeit goods. Lee Jung-eun will make a special appearance as Park Ae-ja, Kim Sung-joon’s mother, a retired civil servant who has devoted her life to her family. Bang Hyo-rin will play Bae Nu-ri, the president of Sammul Market, and Kim Eui-sung will play Bae Pil-goo, Bae Nu-ri’s uncle who takes over the Busan counterfeit market. Kwon Na-ra will play Moon Yu-bin, a designer who creates top-class counterfeit bags. Park Se-wan will play Moon Da-bin, the younger sister who makes counterfeit bags with her older sister. Kim Hye-eun will play Jang Ji-soo, Bae Nu-ri’s lawyer and strategist. Go Kyu-pil will play Donkas, Bae Nu-ri’s right-hand man and the leader of Sammul Market’s action team.
Kim Moo-yeol will make a special appearance as Baek Jong-min, the head of the counterfeit crackdown TF team and prosecutor of the Central District Prosecutors’ Office who is chasing after Bae Noo-ri and Kim Sung-joon who have conquered the counterfeit market. Detective Lee Ki-bong who also goes on a counterfeit crackdown will be played by Jeong Man-sik, and TF investigator Jegal Hyeon-suk will be played by Kang Mal-geum.
The production was directed by Park Hyun-seok, who created ‘The Thief: The Sound of the Sword’ (2023) and ‘Secret Forest 2’ (2020), and the script was written by Han Jeong-hoon, who wrote ‘The Thief: The Sound of the Sword’ (2023) and ‘Bad Guys’ (2014). ‘Knockoff’ is scheduled to be released next year, but the specific release date has not been set.
