Actors Kim Soo-hyun and Park Min-young shared special stories about K-dramas and acting.
According to CJ ENM on the 29th, Kim Soo-hyun and Park Min-young attended ‘KCON LA 2024’ held in Los Angeles, USA from the 26th to the 28th (local time).
Park Min-young and Kim Soo-hyun held special fan meetings on the Meet&Green stage set up at the event venue on the 27th and 28th, respectively. They also graced the stage of M Countdown live.
The attendance of the two actors was planned to expand the base of K-content overseas through a meeting between representative K-drama actors and K-pop fans, in keeping with the spirit of the KCON event, which has provided an experience encompassing not only K-pop but also K-food, K-beauty, and other aspects of Korean culture.
At the special fan meeting, they revealed behind-the-scenes stories of the drama filming process and introduced their favorite K-pop songs.
On the 27th, ‘Park Min Young Special Fan Meeting: Marry My Husband’ was held. Park Min Young expressed her feelings, saying that she was very happy and excited as it was her first visit to Los Angeles in a long time since her visit before the pandemic.
Regarding the secret to the success of the tvN drama ‘Marry My Husband’ (2024), he said, “It is an example that shows that people from all over the world can connect through stories, transcending cultures. I am grateful to the many people who made this great journey possible.”
He then recalled the moment when he first came across the drama script, saying, “My first impression was that the title was too unique, but as soon as I started reading the script, I couldn’t put it down and read it all in one sitting.”
Park Min-young also chose the tvN drama “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim” (2018) as the most memorable drama she has appeared in in the past, saying, “It was a work that allowed me to act freely and express myself in various ways. Many people still remember me for that role.” Reflecting the global popularity of “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim,” the audience cheered loudly when the drama’s title was mentioned.
She also introduced the song “Spring Day” by the group “BTS,” which was used as the insert song for “Marry My Husband,” as her favorite song among BTS songs. Finally, Park Min-young went up on the M Countdown live stage and delivered a special message to the tens of thousands of fans who attended KCON, mentioning the need for education for women in underdeveloped countries.
On the 28th, the ‘Behind the Scene: Kim Soo Hyun’ event was held. Kim Soo Hyun said, “I’ve been to KCON again after 9 years. I feel good about the excitement of the KCON scene that I haven’t felt in a long time.”
Kim Soo Hyun then focused on introducing K-pop songs that he enjoys listening to. The audience erupted in cheers every time a song was mentioned. Actor Kim Soo Hyun’s favorite song to listen to when riding a bicycle, his hobby, was “Paradise” by the group “Infinite.” He introduced the song by saying, “When the song first came out, I thought it was a very well-made song with a lot of practice in both the choreography and the singing.”
He chose ‘Night Letter’ by singer and actress IU and ‘Night Yanggaeng’ by singer and actress Bibi as the songs he enjoys listening to during his break time. Kim Soo Hyun even recommended the Night Yanggaeng Challenge to fans on the spot, saying that although the Korean pronunciation might be a bit difficult, it would be worth trying.
Also, as recommended songs for travel destinations, he introduced ‘Travel’ by singer Bolbbalgan4 and ‘Attention’ by group ‘New Jeans’.
