‘South Korea’s sexy diva’ Kim Wan-sun recalled the lonely days she felt while she was a singer.
On the Channel A show ‘Intimate Friends Documentary – Table for 4’ to be aired on the 19th, Kim Wan-sun invites her close friends, singer Kang Su-ji, actor Kim Kwang-gyu, and hair designer Taeyang, to her house to celebrate the resumption of her activities.
At a gathering of close friends, Kim Wan-sun looked back on her past. She debuted as the first female dance singer in Korea in 1986 and lived a glamorous life as a star with numerous hit songs and performances. However, Kim Wan-sun confessed that she lived a lonely life.
In particular, she said that she was gaslighted for 13 years by her aunt and manager, the late Han Baek-hee. Kim Wan-sun recalled the past, saying, “My aunt was always by my side,” and “I felt like I was trapped in a glass castle.”
After Ms. Han passed away, Kim Wan-sun said she started painting to heal the wounds she received from her aunt. She said, “I was very disappointed in myself for making bad choices in life, and all of those things became inspirations for my paintings,” and “When I paint, I talk to myself and heal myself,” revealing her love for painting.
Kim Wan-sun also revealed that she and actress Kim Hye-soo meet during the holidays. They formed a ‘holiday singles gathering’ under the leadership of Taeyang, who has been a close friend of Kim Hye-soo for 13 years. Taeyang said, “(When the three of us meet) Hye-soo hosts, Wan-sun dances, and I cook and serve food,” making everyone laugh.
In addition to this, Kim Wan-sun shared news of her painting exhibition and introduced her new song, as well as various other plans for her activities.
Channel A’s ‘Best Friend Documentary Table for 4’ airs every Monday at 8:10 PM.
