Kim Yeon-kyung, who is participating in the team’s spring training in Shanghai, China, said on the 27th, “In the new season, I want to enjoy it rather than obsess over winning. I think that way, we might get better results.”
Kim Yeon-kyung, who returned to Korea for the 2022-23 season, showed off her skills by winning the MVP award for two consecutive seasons. However, the team lost in the championship series for two consecutive seasons. This was the reason why Kim Yeon-kyung could not smile brightly even after receiving the MVP trophy.
Kim Yeon-kyung said, “I know the sweetness of the top because I have won many championships in the past,” and added, “That is why I had a greater desire to win, and it was even more disappointing that I ended up finishing as runner-up for two seasons in a row.”
He continued, “Winning is determined by how much effort we put in during the off-season,” but added, “It would be nice if the season ended with a championship, but I’ve realized over the past two years that it’s not something that can be achieved with skill or effort alone.”

The captain of Heungkuk Life Insurance for the new season is Kim Yeon-kyung’s ‘best friend’ Kim Su-ji. The captain’s armband was passed from Kim Mi-yeon last season to the most senior player.
Kim Yeon-kyung said, “I get to see a lot of changes in my friends,” and added, “When training doesn’t go well, I think about how to improve the team spirit.”
