On Sunday, South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said Kim Jong Un’s North Korea fired a ballistic missile. It is also noteworthy that the missile test took place during the Russia-Ukraine war.

The bomber struck shortly after 7.52am local time in the Sunan region of North Korea, officials said. Japanese Defense Minister Nobuo Kishi said North Korea had fired a ballistic missile at a range of 300 km (186 miles) and a maximum altitude of 600 km (373 miles).

This is North Korea’s first missile test since January 30. It is estimated to be the longest ballistic missile test since 2017. The Hwaseong-12 Intermediate Range Ballistic Missile (IRBM) was reportedly tested today.

South Korea’s National Security Council (NSC) has said the experiment failed when the world was trying to end the war in Ukraine. During the eighth missile test this year, the NSC expressed deep concern and regret and called on the North to immediately suspend any action against the peace resolution through diplomacy.
