KinderKunstLabor – „We need to be children again, immediately!“

by time news

From September 13th, everything in the KinderKunstLabor will be about dreams and dreaming. The dream.lab exhibition by Brazilian artist Rivane Neuenschwander takes all visitors on an exciting journey with sensory and haptic experiences. Even during the preparation of the exhibition, the children were in close contact with Rivane Neuenschwander. The results of these interactions are also part of the installations in the KinderKunstLabor. “We need to be children again, immediately!” explains Neuenschwander, who is enthusiastic about working with the children and the degree of freedom with which they find solutions.

Participation desired

Visitors to the exhibition can expect an artistic landscape that they can help to shape. As a result, the exhibition is constantly evolving – and becomes a new experience with each visit. The artistic work methods used by Neuenschwander with children appeal to the sense of smell, encourage haptic experiences and understanding. They enable color and sound experiences, awaken memories and stimulate the imagination. Young children are motivated to participate in different activities, to help shape and research. They learn to experiment with different forms of artistic expression and experience aesthetically sensual materials.

Activities throughout the house

The dream.lab exhibition is not the only one dedicated to dreams and dreams. The Children’s Art Laboratory has also dedicated itself to these topics and geared its offerings to them: journeys through the building, filmic interventions, glimpses into the past or into infinity, the use of media as artistic but also critical tools, visiting and designing the dream laboratory – an open studio with mirror surfaces, light, sound, scent, natural materials and textiles -, experiences with artistic and craft work as well as with books, language and writing.

The program is aimed at children, young people and adults. It is moderated and accompanied by experienced art educators and artists. It is barrier-free and offers everyone a wide range of artistic experiences.

The offers can be booked individually in the afternoons and at weekends. There are specially tailored formats for school and kindergarten groups in the mornings during the week.
