King Felipe VI of Spain highlights Morocco’s “high-potential economic sectors”

Bilbao – King Felipe VI of Spain stressed on Monday in Bilbao that Morocco has “economic sectors with high potential”, reiterating “the importance” of relations between the two Kingdoms.

“Morocco is a country with economic sectors with great potential,” said King Felipe VI in his speech at the opening of the 26th National Congress of Family Business under the slogan “The strength of people”, which this year has the participation of Morocco as guest of honor.

On this occasion, the Spanish Sovereign highlighted the “presence of many leading Spanish companies in Morocco”.

In this context, King Felipe VI noted, before representatives of around 600 family businesses, that the participation of Moroccan businessmen in this conclave “can help to better understand the importance of relations with our neighboring country, Morocco.”

The Spanish Sovereign also took this opportunity to reiterate Spain’s “solidarity” with Morocco following the earthquake that struck the Al Haouz region on September 8.

Organised by the Family Business Institute (IEF), in collaboration with the Basque Country Family Business Association (Aefame), this two-day congress has become the most important business forum in Spain.

The second day of this event will be marked by the organization of a round table entitled “The family business: the engine of Morocco”.
