Distributor Squre Enix surprised fans of the series this week when it announced ‘Kingdom Hearts 4’, the fourth title in the series of Japanese role-playing games, starring Sora, Mickey, Donald Duck and Goofy.

The first game in the Kingdom Hearts series was released on March 28, 2002 on the PlayStation 2 consoles, the series brought for the first time the favorite characters from Disney movies including: Mickey Mouse, Hercules, Ariel and more and integrated them into the world of Japanese role-playing games of Squre Enix.

Usually among the big titles in the series, the distributor releases smaller spin-off titles, but apparently the surprising move was made in honor of the game’s 20th anniversary celebrations.

The exposure video shows that Sora, the protagonist of the previous games, is once again hooked up with Mickey, Donald Duck, Gopi and a new-old heroine named Sterlia, with whom they embark on a whole new adventure. This is called ‘Lost Master Arc’ which is a “new and epic story” according to the company announcement.
