In an interview in 2017, KK replied to the question as to why he did not sing more songs in Malayalam – I often sing in other South Indian languages and I find it difficult to sing in Malayalam. People say that the Malayalam I speak is decent, but I find it difficult to say words that are overused in literature or lyrics.
At the same time, KK wanted to sing more songs in Malayalam.
KK had also asked if Malayalam music directors have an impression that I do not want to accept offers to sing in Malayalam. KK says that he listens to Malayalam songs suggested by his friends. KK was a man who always loved Kerala.
