KL Rahul should not be dismissed for not scoring runs

by time news

New Delhi,

30-year-old KL Rahul has played 47 Test matches for the Indian team so far. He has accumulated 2,642 runs in 81 innings. This includes 13 fifties and 7 hundreds. However, he has not been playing well for the last one year.

Rahul has played a total of 6 Test matches since 2022 till the recently concluded Delhi Test match. He has played a total of 11 innings in which he has scored 50, 8, 12, 10, 22, 23, 10, 2, 20, 17, 1 runs respectively.

Due to this, there have been requests from various quarters that he should be removed from the team and Subman Gill should be given a chance to replace him.

In this context, he has been included in the squad for the last two Tests against Australia. Many people are expressing their opinions about it.

In this case, Gautam Gambhir, the former player of the Indian team, said that he should not be asked to remove KL Rahul from the team because he did not score runs.

Gambhir is the consultant of Lucknow Supergiants in the IPL. It is noteworthy that Rahul is the captain of the same team. When he says about this,

Rahul should not be removed from the Indian team. Every cricketer stumbles at some points in their cricketing career to add runs. No cricket expert or anyone else should say that Rahul is not playing well and should not drop him from the team.

Support talented players. Look at Rohit Sharma. See how he started his cricket career. He started scoring runs late. Compare his performance then and now. We knew his potential and supported him. Now he is accumulating a lot of runs. Like that, Rahul will play and score runs.

The Indian team has taken a 2-0 lead in the series against Australia. Not 0-2. So they decide not to remove anyone from the team and encourage the team to work. I think the Indian team management is supporting Rahul at the right time. Rahul is the best player. We have to see how he adds runs in international cricket.

This is what he said.
